First Time Home Buyer

Grants in California

Complete California First Time Home Buyer Grant Information.

Are you thinking of buying your first home in California? Would you like a free gift of money to help you purchase that first home? Unfortunately, the state of California does not provide free money for its residents who are first time home buyers and need help with the down payment and closing costs as some other states do. However, there is still Federal Grant money available as well as grants from private foundations. This is free money that shouldn't be passed up! The grant awards can be in the thousands of dollars. It will be well worth your time to educate yourself about the first time home buyer grant programs that are available to you.

Writing the Perfect Grant Application

Located within this site is a large amount on information on where to find grant programs for first time home buyers in each state. However, it is beyond the scope of this website to teach our visitors how to write a perfect grant application. While it is important to find grant sources that are applicable to your situation, it is equally important to write a quality grant application that will win you grant money. For this reason we have worked out a special arrangement with The Grant Assistant to provide our visitors with a complete grant writing kit. This kit provides additional sources of agencies that provide grants (over 1,400 sources). It will also assist you in writing the perfect grant application. The information contained in this kit is priceless. We highly suggest you obtain this valuable resource if you are even remotely interested in obtaining cash grants. The kit is completely free and you only have to pay $1.97 for postage. For less than two dollars you can get complete information that could bring you a grant of ten, fifteen, or twenty thousand dollars. We can't stress highly enough how much value you receive for less than two dollars. Click here to get these CD's rushed to your home, or see the offer at the bottom of this page.

Federal First Time Home Buyer Grants

Besides the state programs, there are federal funds and grants available to first time home buyers in California through the Homes and Communities program of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. On their website you'll find complete grant information, application forms, description of available funds, as well as many other helpful tools.

Every potential first time home buyer should investigate what they have to offer. You can visit the website by going here: US Dept. of Housing and Urban Development. Also,  there is a website that has a complete list of all grant programs available through the United States Federal Government: Grants.gov. First time home buyers should plan to spend the required time investigating to determine how many individual grants they may qualify for. You can visit the website by going to Grants.gov.
